Trees recognized as living beings: what solution for your pipes?

In an article published in Le Presse, on June 21st, we learned that the town of Terrasse-Vaudreuil has recently decided to recognize trees as living being with rights, the first city in the world to do so. In a climate change context where people are increasingly sensitive to the importance of preserving trees and natural spaces, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to assume that other towns might follow in their tracks in the coming years, which could make the repairing structures affected by roots a little more complicated.

At Drain-Care we’re ready for such an eventuality since protecting trees and landscaping is something we have been doing for more than 30 years already by using the FORMADRAIN pipe lining solution.

This solution allowed us to completely rehabilitate a pipe through existing access points thus without having to cut the tree. As the new pipe (liner) composed of fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin is hardened with steam inside of the existing pipe in a process that’s free of volatiles organic compounds (VOCs) the installation process has little to no impact on neighbouring infrastructures and plants. This solution has residential, commercial, institutional and industrial applications. The expected lifespan of a FORMADRAIN liner is of at least 50 years so it’s a permanent solution to preserve your sewer without having to say goodbye to your tree or trees.
